🏳️‍🌈 Why do we celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month?

LGBTQ+ History Month is more than a time to look back - it’s an opportunity to remember the people, movements, and moments that helped shape the LGBTQ+ community we know today. 💜

Throughout October, we celebrate the activists who fought for visibility and equality, honor the voices that have too often been left out of history, and recognize the progress made through generations of resilience, courage, and community.

But history isn’t just about the past. It helps us understand where we are today, and reminds us that the work of creating a more inclusive and affirming world continues. LGBTQ+ history is our history, and learning it gives us the opportunity to carry these stories forward. 🫶

This month, we invite you to learn, remember, celebrate, and connect. Explore LGBTQ+ stories and histories, discover the people who paved the way, and find ways to celebrate the joy, resilience, and diversity of our community.

We remember where we’ve been. We celebrate where we are. And we imagine where we can go next. 🌈✨
