FALL SIMMER POT
INGREDIENTS
• Water, as needed
• 1 red apple, sliced
• 1 orange, sliced
• 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, sliced or grated
• 3 sprigs fresh rosemary
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

OPTIONAL SPICES — pick and choose or use them all:
• ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
• 1 tablespoon whole cloves
• 2 star anise
• 3 cinnamon sticks

DIRECTIONS
Fill a medium pot with water, leaving enough room for the fruit and spices.
Add the sliced apple, orange, ginger, rosemary, vanilla extract, and your desired spices.
Stir gently so the ingredients are mostly submerged in the water.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then immediately reduce the heat to a gentle simmer.
Allow the simmer pot to cook, keeping an eye on the water level. Add more water as needed to prevent the pot from drying out.
When finished, turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool completely.
TO REUSE
• The ingredients can be reused for approximately 2–3 days. Once cooled, strain off the water and transfer the fruit, herbs, and spices to an airtight container. Refrigerate until ready to use again.
• To reuse, return the ingredients to a pot, cover with fresh water, bring to a boil, then reduce to a gentle simmer. Discard the mixture if the fruit or herbs develop an unusual smell, appearance, or texture.
