4 years is crazy… time really flies

Lil Yachty officially dropped “Poland” 4 years ago today. He recorded the song back in 2021, and it sat unreleased until a snippet leaked online in 2022

Yachty answered by uploading the full song to SoundCloud himself on October 4 with “STOP LEAKING MY SH*T” in the description. It earned over 5 million plays in its first week and took over TikTok, with Drake and Offset both posting videos vibing to it

One week later it officially dropped on every platform through Quality Control and Motown, together with a Cole Bennett music video shot in SoHo and the Broadway–Lafayette subway station in New York. The video earned over 2 million views in its first 24 hours

The whole song runs just 1 minute and 23 seconds and was produced by F1lthy, Lukrative and Lucian. Yachty has said the title started as a joke when he had some wock and saw someone drinking Poland Spring water

It peaked at #40 on the Billboard Hot 100 and went Gold in both the US and Poland. The next summer Yachty performed it six times in a row at a festival in Poland, and Drake later called it “such an incredibly frustrating song for any other artist because nobody is that free of a thinker”

Do you remember when “Poland” first dropped?
