It has been almost a month since Florida State has fired former Athletic Director Michael Alford, and the Seminoles haven’t made any movement with hiring another.

This is concerning because if it doesn’t pan out with head coach Mike Norvell, how am I confident that Florida State will make a competent decision in deciding a competent head coach that will ensure that the Seminoles will be back to competing for championships annually?

With that said, I am never in the business of calling for someone’s job. I don’t want Mike Norvell to be relieved of his duties for 50+ million dollars and then go out and hire (for example) Duke’s Manny Diaz with no administrative backing in place. This seems like a program that is just settling. I also understand that Coach Norvell has a combined record of 10-20 in the last three years, and that can’t continue either.

Sure, you could go out and hire former Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher for a cheaper contract. However, this is the same mess that he was in before when he the head man in Tallahassee. I want whoever the next head coach (or if it is Mike Norvell) to not have a dysfunctional mess at the top to be competitive in this space.

I need the administration to get their act together! 🤝 #gonoles #fsufootball #floridastate #mikenorvell #jimbofisher
