🎥🚗 The insane camera setup on the 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX in Baby Driver (2017) was even crazier than it looks because the person sitting on the roof was actually driving the car!

The filmmakers built a special roof-mounted driving pod that allowed a professional stunt driver to control the Subaru while the actors performed inside.

The WRX featured an automatic transmission, with its driving controls relocated to the elevated cockpit and cameras mounted around the exterior to capture realistic interior footage.

The production used at least four Subaru WRXs, each modified for different filming requirements.

One WRX produced over 320 horsepower with upgraded drivetrain components, while another was converted from all-wheel drive to rear-wheel drive specifically for drifting sequences.

Stunt driver Jeremy Fry performed much of the movie’s precision driving, including the unforgettable opening getaway sequence.

Director Edgar Wright emphasized practical stunts and real driving, helping make the film’s chase scenes feel incredibly authentic.

Would you rather drive the roof-mounted WRX or the rear-wheel-drive drift version?

What are your thoughts? 🤔💭
