😳 Max Verstappen once had his entire engine cover rip off during qualifying at Monza, leaving the back of his Toro Rosso completely exposed at speed.
⠀
The incident happened in Q1 at the 2015 Italian Grand Prix after Toro Rosso rushed to get his STR10 back on track following technical work.
⠀
As Verstappen accelerated toward Curva Grande, the engine cover detached and scattered debris across the circuit, forcing him to abandon the lap and return to the pits.
⠀
The exposed bodywork gave fans a rare look at the tightly packaged Renault-powered hybrid V6, cooling hardware and wiring normally hidden beneath the car’s aerodynamic shell.
⠀
FIA stewards later ruled that Toro Rosso had released the car in an unsafe condition and ordered Verstappen to serve a drive-through penalty early in the race.
⠀
Would you keep driving if half the bodywork suddenly disappeared at Monza?
⠀
What are your thoughts? 🤔💭
