👻 Rivian just turned its entire lineup into a Ghostbusters machine for Halloween 2026.

The limited-time Halloween Mode was created with Sony Pictures and adds themed lights, sounds, displays and interactive features across Rivian vehicles.
⠀
Owners can activate effects inspired by Ecto-1, the Proton Pack, Slimer and the Ghost Trap, while Trick or Treat Mode transforms the screens and exterior lighting for a full Halloween experience.

Rivian also added a scavenger hunt, custom lock sounds, a Mini-Puft arcade game and motion-triggered effects that can react when someone walks past the vehicle.

To launch the update, Rivian brought back original Ghostbusters star Bill Murray as Peter Venkman and even built a physical Ecto-R1 inspired by the iconic movie car.

The update runs from October 9 through November 2, making this one of the most elaborate seasonal software features we’ve seen from an automaker.
