🇺🇸 BREAKING: After 39 years, the FIA World Rally Championship is officially returning to the United States in 2027! 🏁

The historic comeback is scheduled for August 26–29, marking America’s first WRC event since the legendary 1988 Olympus Rally in Washington state.

That final American round was won by Miki Biasion and co-driver Tiziano Siviero in the iconic Lancia Delta, during an era when Lancia dominated international rallying.

The new event, called Rally US, will be Round 11 of the expanded 15-round championship and will feature high-speed gravel stages.

Plans center around Knoxville, Tennessee, with proposed routes extending into Kentucky, although the final stage locations have not yet been officially announced.

The announcement follows a successful FIA evaluation in June 2026, when officials inspected potential rally stages, safety operations, and infrastructure across both states.

The comeback also coincides with the introduction of new WRC27 technical regulations, marking a major transformation for the championship.

For American rally enthusiasts, this means witnessing the world’s elite rally drivers competing on U.S. soil for the first time in nearly four decades.
