🏁 Vanellope von Schweetz might genuinely be one of the most underrated fictional racers ever.
⠀
In Wreck-It Ralph, she starts out as the unwanted “glitch” of Sugar Rush, but once Ralph gives her somewhere to practice, it becomes obvious she has natural racing instincts.
⠀
Her glitching ability lets her suddenly jump positions on track, but the movie also makes a point of showing that she can actually drive, countersteer and control the kart under pressure.
⠀
That becomes even more impressive when you learn King Candy had deliberately altered the game’s code to erase her place as Sugar Rush’s true lead racer.
⠀
By the final race, Vanellope is not just keeping up with the field, she is fighting her way back into the position she was always supposed to have.
⠀
Top five fictional racers or are we reaching? 😂
