🕵️ Cars 2 gets way darker when you realize the entire World Grand Prix was basically built around an energy conspiracy.
⠀
The story follows a group of “lemon” cars who secretly sabotage racers using a weapon disguised as a television camera, targeting cars running on the new Allinol fuel.
⠀
Their goal is to make alternative fuel look dangerous so the world keeps depending on conventional oil, which would directly benefit the villains behind the scheme.
⠀
Mater accidentally gets pulled into the investigation with British spies Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell, turning what looks like a goofy racing sequel into a full espionage plot.
⠀
The biggest twist is that Miles Axlerod, the billionaire behind the World Grand Prix and Allinol itself, is ultimately revealed as the mastermind behind the sabotage.
⠀
As a kid it feels like a funny spy movie with talking cars, but as an adult the corporate manipulation, energy politics and staged public failure hit completely differently.
⠀
Did you realize how deep the Cars 2 plot actually was when you were younger?
⠀
What are your thoughts? 🤔💭
