Bob and Frozone’s “bowling night” was really just an excuse to sneak out and relive their superhero days.
⠀
In The Incredibles, Bob Parr and Lucius Best pretend they are going bowling while secretly sitting in the car listening to a police scanner for crimes they can stop.
⠀
The joke is that their wives think they are having a normal guys’ night, while the two retired superheroes are basically looking for any excuse to get back into action.
⠀
Their little tradition eventually leads them to a burning building, where they rescue civilians and nearly get caught by police while wearing masks.
⠀
The whole scene perfectly captures Bob’s struggle to accept normal suburban life after being forced to give up the superhero identity he loved.
⠀
Twenty years later, this is still exactly how car guys imagine they’ll be sneaking out with their friends when they’re older 😭
⠀
Would you still be making excuses to go for late-night drives with your friends in 20 years?
⠀
What are your thoughts? 🤔💭
