🏎️ Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari F40 story somehow gets even better when you see the full restoration journey.

Hamilton spent years looking for the right example before finding an F40 that had reportedly been driven just 69 km from Maranello and then parked for more than three decades.

Rather than leave it as a dusty time capsule, he chose to have the car carefully recommissioned in Maranello so he could actually drive it.

Hamilton said almost everything had survived remarkably well, and during the work the team discovered the engine itself was stamped with the number 44, matching the race number he has carried throughout his Formula 1 career.

The finished car later became one of the most memorable paddock arrivals of the year when Hamilton drove it to Monza for Ferrari’s home Grand Prix.

For someone who has raced some of the fastest cars ever built, choosing an F40 as a personal dream car says a lot about how special this Ferrari still is.
