Brackley Town are delighted to announce the permanent signing of experienced defender Alex Whittle from National League South side Farnborough.

The 33-year-old left-back arrives at St James Park with a wealth of experience across the EFL and non-league football, adding further quality and versatility to Gareth Dean's squad.

Alex began his professional career with Dunfermline Athletic in Scotland before returning to England, where he has represented clubs including AFC Fylde, Southport, York City, Forest Green Rovers, Boston United and Chesterfield.

He joined Yeovil Town in the summer of 2023 and played an important role in the Glovers' National League South title-winning campaign, helping them secure promotion back to the National League in 2023/24.

After joining Farnborough earlier this season, Alex now makes the permanent move to Brackley Town.

Primarily a left-back, but also comfortable operating on the left side of central defence, he brings valuable experience to the Saints' defensive options.

💬 Alex Whittle: “I think I can bring energy, experience and a bit of calmness to the team. There are some really good players here and, with plenty of games still to play, I’m hoping we can push up the table and aim for the play-offs.”

Welcome to Brackley Whitts 👏
