Donald Trump has criticised Norway after failing to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, calling the decision an “indelible stain” on the country. His comments came after this year's award went to former International Criminal Court judge Navi Pillay.

Speaking at a rally in Syracuse, New York, Trump dismissed Pillay as a “mystery person” and claimed he had helped prevent or resolve several international conflicts.

He cited tensions involving North and South Korea, Japan and North Korea, and China and Taiwan, but provided no evidence for those claims in his remarks.
