America could be about to hold its first public execution in almost a century. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says convicted Fort Hood mass shooter Nidal Hasan will be executed by military firing squad on December 3 - and wants the public to witness it. The US hasn't held a public execution since 1936, but exactly what Hegseth means by 'public' remains unclear, including whether the execution could be livestreamed for people across the country to watch. #PeteHegseth #FiringSquad #USNews #DeathPenalty
