Reports of increased Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity are spreading across the Central Valley this week, with people being detained and families left searching for answers.

Some of those detained are being taken to immigration detention facilities in McFarland, more than an hour south of Fresno.

For one Fresno family, the experience has brought what they describe as “anguish” after their father was detained last week. The family says he has underlying health issues and they are concerned about his well-being while in custody.

Across the Valley, videos circulating online appear to show masked ICE agents pulling people over and taking them away in unmarked vehicles.
