## Caption

The narrative that doctors should sacrifice everything and devote their entire lives to medicine is leading to more physician burnout than ever. 

My patients are best served when I am intentional about taking care of myself, so that I have more to give when I’m present with them, and can show up fully with joy and compassion for longer into my career as a psychiatrist. The feeling of being surrounded by the rave community that shares a deep love for music, dance, fashion, self expression, and embracing what it means to be alive is more recharging than any amount of sleep to me.
