The boy who had already won the children's division of the Utah Talent Competition and become the Junior Vocal Champion on Star Search suddenly faced the most devastating news any young singer could receive. His voice was in danger. He declined risky surgery and spent years recovering. Then at sixteen years old he walked into an American Idol audition in San Diego and sang Waiting on the World to Change by John Mayer. Three judges said yes immediately. Then he sang Imagine by John Lennon. Then Randy Jackson told him he was born to do exactly what he was doing. Then Paula Abdul said he was destined for superstardom. Then Simon Cowell said right now you are the one to beat. Then at the finale Simon looked at a sixteen year old from Murray Utah who had overcome vocal paralysis and had just delivered the most extraordinary performance of the entire season and had only one word left. Knockout. Watch every single performance that earned that word. 0:00 David Archuleta - American Idol 2008 S7 2:49 David Archuleta (Hollywood Week Solos) - American Idol 2008 S7 4:43 David Archuleta (Top 24) - American Idol 2008 S7 8:21 David Archuleta (Top 20) - American Idol 2008 S7 13:06 David Archuleta (Top 16) - American Idol 2008 S7 16:59 David Archuleta (Top 12) - American Idol 2008 S7 20:35 David Archuleta (Top 11) - American Idol 2008 S7 24:42 David Archuleta (Top 10) - American Idol 2008 S7 28:18 David Archuleta (Top 8) - American Idol 2008 S7 31:28 David Archuleta (Top 6) - American Idol 2008 S7 34:54 David Archuleta (Top 5 Song 1) - American Idol 2008 S7 36:28 David Archuleta (Top 5 Song 2) - American Idol 2008 S7 39:07 David Archuleta (Top 4 Song 1) - American Idol 2008 S7 42:42 David Archuleta (Top 4 Song 2) - American Idol 2008 S7 44:58 David Archuleta (Top 3 Song 1) - American Idol 2008 S7 48:17 David Archuleta (Top 3 Song 2) - American Idol 2008 S7 51:22 David Archuleta (Top 3 Song 3) - American Idol 2008 S7 54:01 David Archuleta (Finals) - Imagine - American Idol 2008 S7 Bonus Clips: American Idol Bonus Bundle 1 - Katy Perry American Idol Bonus Bundle 10 - Mean Simon Comments American Idol Bonus Bundle 11 - Funny Judge Moments #AGT #BGT #XFactor #Idol #Viral ABOUT TOP VIRAL TALENT Welcome to Top Viral, your ultimate destination for the most jaw-dropping, heart-pounding, and unforgettable auditions from talent shows like America’s Got Talent, Britain’s Got Talent, The X Factor, and more from across the globe!
