Have you ever been so focused on getting someone to like you that you forgot to ask yourself if you even liked them?

I think so many of us have been there. 

We edit ourselves, second-guess what we say, try to be a little more interesting, a little less needy, a little more like whoever we think the other person wants.

And sometimes we don't even realize we're doing it.

I had such a fun and refreshingly honest conversation with @serenakerrigan about this.

Serena has built a whole brand around confidence and dating, but one of the things I love about her story is her realization that even confidence can become a performance. 

And that learning to let someone see the real you, including your insecurities, takes a different kind of courage.

We also get into why we're drawn to emotionally unavailable people, how to stop treating rejection as a verdict on our worth, and what changes when we start approaching dating from a place of actually knowing and valuing ourselves.

Because here's something I wish more people understood: You get to do the choosing, too.
