HEINZ is moving past ketchup and into the soup aisle with a new line of ready-to-eat soups that come in a bag instead of a can.

The HEINZ Soup Collection is rolling out across Canada this month and is only available here. There are six flavours: Homestyle Chicken Noodle, Thai Style Chicken Coconut Curry, Hearty Tomato and White Bean, Cheesy Potato, Rich Mushroom and Curry Butternut Squash.

The bags are easy to open and don’t need a can opener or anything added, which HEINZ says makes them better for work lunches and busy weeknights. The brand also says it’s the first major company to bring bagged ready-to-eat soup to Canada, where more than 80 per cent of ready-to-eat and condensed soup is still sold in cans.

Until now, HEINZ’s soup lineup in Canada was mostly its classic canned tomato soup.
