NowPartner 🌱♻️ SAVE YOUR FOOD WASTE: We stopped by Glen Iris Elementary, one of 8 Birmingham City Schools with composting, to see how Birmingham students are turning food scraps into nutrient-rich soil.👇

♻️ Composting is turning food scraps + other natural materials into nutrient-rich soil + helps reduce the waste in our landfills
🌱 Seed → 🥕 Harvest → 🍽️ Food → ♻️ Compost → 🌎 Soil

🫵 You can help through the 3 R’s:
🥕 REDUCE: Plan grocery trips, make a list + be thoughtful about portions
🌱 REUSE: Compost food scraps, leaves, grass clippings + other organic materials
🍎 RESCUE: Save leftovers or repurpose food that’s still safe to eat

✅ @jeffcodepthealth’s Green Loop initiative promotes environmentally friendly practices like composting and helps schools, restaurants + residents find simple ways to reduce food waste
