It was a thrill to reconnect with the students I taught in 4th and 5th grade for their high school graduation. I’m so proud of these scholars from Sunflower, Mississippi for overcoming a number of struggles including the pandemic. As Frederick Douglass said, “No struggle, no progress.” And indeed these students have progressed. They have a special place in my heart, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for them. But for now here are some embarrassing photos of them in 4th, 5th and 8th grades versus now. Congratulations!
