At Lakmé Fashion Week (lakmefashionwk) in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (fdciofficial), NIF Global’s (nifglobal.corporate) GenNext showcase spotlighted three emerging labels: Subbah Studio (subbahstudio) by Nimisha Diwakar, Abhishek Chauhan Studio (abhishekchauhanstudio) by Abhishek Chauhan, and Day & Age (dayandage.in) by Shreya Parasrampuria and Sharan Adka.

These emerging designers championed sustainable design and age-old textile traditions with creations that speak volumes about contemporary Indian fashion. 

In Subbah Studio’s collection, ‘Hustle & the Hue’, Bengal’s hand-painted batik technique took centre stage, with intricate embroidery and beading on jewel-toned silk and khadi fabrics.

Abhishek Chauhan Studio presented ‘Alchemy’, a collection that explored sustainable design through bold, sculptural silhouettes and bio-based materials.

Meanwhile, ‘Neither This Nor That’ by Day & Age reimagined vintage Kantha quilts with appliqué and beadwork, bringing a fresh perspective to the runway.
