Nebraska volleyball added another first to its historic season Saturday morning before returning to the court and taking down a top-10 rival.

Andi Jackson, Bergen Reilly and Harper Murray became the first volleyball players to appear as guests on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff during the show’s eight-year history. FOX broadcast from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus for only the second time, with fans lining up hours before the show began.

The three multi-time All-Americans joined the show before it moved to Memorial Stadium ahead of Nebraska football’s matchup with Indiana. They took part in a volleyball target challenge, attempting to hit an Indiana-logo target roughly 20 yards away.

Nebraska coach Dani Busboom Kelly, associate head coach Jaylen Reyes and other members of the volleyball staff were on hand for the appearance, even with the top-ranked Huskers set to face No. 7 Wisconsin later that night.

“We continue to lead the charge in awareness or just momentum with the sport of volleyball, and that’s just another example,” Busboom Kelly said.

Murray said the opportunity represented the growth of the program and women’s sports at Nebraska.

“Nebraska has made the sport of volleyball so popular, and I know that we’ve contributed to that,” Murray said. “But we wouldn’t be anywhere without our fans. … None of us would have imagined being able to do the things that we do now. We’re just so grateful, and that’s probably something we’ll never forget doing.”

This isn't the first history Nebraska has made this season. They played volleyball matches inside AT&T Stadium and were part of the first matches in Wrigley Field's 100+ year history. This is on top of the away attendance records they are setting.

The morning appearance was only the beginning of a memorable day for the Huskers.

Murray posted a season-high 20 kills and hit .471 as No. 1 Nebraska swept No. 7 Wisconsin, 25-23, 25-14, 25-20, in front of 10,497 fans at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Nebraska improved to 17-0 overall and 6-0 in Big Ten play, extending its home regular-season winning streak to 58 matches.

The Huskers were dominant statistically, hitting .396 while limiting Wisconsin to a .171 percentage. Nebraska finished with advantages in kills, 50-36; digs, 44-28; and blocks, 9-2.

Jackson added 11 kills, while Teraya Sigler had nine kills on .533 hitting. Reilly recorded 39 assists, Laney Choboy led the defense with 13 digs and Olivia Mauch added 12.

Nebraska erased Wisconsin’s late push in the opening set when Murray delivered a back-row kill at 24-23. The Huskers took control with a 10-1 run in the second set, then closed the sweep with the final three points of the third set. Murray’s 20th kill ended the match.

Nebraska hits the road Thursday for a 7 p.m. Big Ten match at Northwestern.
