A very, beary Happy 15th Birthday, Hudson 🎂

Hudson celebrated his big day in true polar bear fashion: splashing around in the large pool with his sister, Juno, exploring some exciting new toys, and enjoying plenty of his favourite enrichment activities 🐾

If you've visited Hudson recently, you may have spotted him swimming, snoozing in a cozy pile of hay or wood wool, or enjoying one of his favourite daily traditions: "afternoon stick time!" 🪵

In fact, Hudson is such a fan of sticks that his team regularly replenish his very own "Stick Libraries" throughout his habitats, giving him plenty of opportunities to explore, play and stay active.

Did you know? Male polar bears in the wild typically live an average of 15 to 18 years. As Hudson enters a new chapter of his life, his dedicated Wildlife Care team is taking extra steps to ensure he continues to thrive.

Through voluntary training, specialized physiotherapy and thoughtfully designed enrichment activities, Hudson's team is helping him maintain his mobility, encourage healthy exercise and support his overall well-being as he gets older. Whether it's a refreshing swim or some quality time with his beloved sticks, every activity plays an important role in keeping Hudson comfortable, active and engaged.

It's all part of your Toronto Zoo's commitment to providing exceptional wildlife care at every stage of life, ensuring the animals who call your Zoo home have opportunities to thrive well into their golden years 💙

Here's to more splashes, snoozes and sticks, Hudson 🐻‍❄️ #BirthdayBear
