#AD Here are my top three pieces of advice to be rain ready on a road trip, from a former Phoenix weather forecaster.

1- Make sure your visibility doesn’t get compromised by crusty old windshield wiper blades. @powerstopbrakes PowerClear Wiper Blade kits make this so easy because you can change them yourself in less than a minute. Get the right fit for you vehicle so it’s easy with no adapters and no hassle at powerstop.com

2- Get the full forecast picture for each microclimate you’re traveling through. Going to the mountains? That weather can be unpredictable but it doesn’t need to wreck your trip. Go to weather.gov and on the left enter the city and state of your travel. On the bottom of the location’s forecast page, click “forecast discussion”. This information is usually updated twice daily and it’s helpful up to about 10 days out from your trip.

3-Be flexible. Plans may need to change but the important part is making memories. If you’re traveling with little kids, chat with them about the forecast and make it fun instead of daunting! Children handle disappointment better when they know an adjustment might be coming. Talk to them about the weather observations they’re making and ask for their ideas if plans have to change for rain. They just want to be part of the process!
