A few days ago, I made these crispy cheeseburger egg rolls and I just can’t stop thinking about them! They’re so delicious and I served them with some homemade burger sauce of course. Such an easy and delicious dinner idea or appetizer 🍔

cheeseburger egg rolls

ingredients (makes 12–14 egg rolls)

* 2 lbs ground beef
* ½ medium onion, finely diced
* 2 tsp garlic powder
* 2 tsp onion powder
* 2 tsp paprika
* ½ tsp black pepper
* 1 ½ tsp salt
* ¼ cup homemade burger sauce
* ⅓ cup chopped dill pickles
* 4 slices american cheese (for beef mixture)
* 6–7 slices american cheese, halved (for assembling)
* 1–1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
* 12–14 egg roll wrappers
* oil for frying

homemade burger sauce:

* 1 cup mayonnaise
* ½ cup ketchup
* 2 tbsp yellow mustard
* 3 tbsp relish
* ½ tbsp pickle juice
* ¼ tsp black pepper
* ½ tsp garlic powder
* 1 tsp smoked paprika
* 1½ tbsp worcestershire sauce

instructions:

1. in a bowl, mix together all the burger sauce ingredients. set aside ¼ cup for the beef mixture and save the rest for dipping.
2. in a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until browned, breaking up the meat as it cooks. drain excess grease.
3. season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt. stir until combined.
4. mix in ¼ cup burger sauce, followed by the chopped pickles. place 4 slices of american cheese over the beef, cover with a lid, and let the cheese melt. stir everything together and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
5. place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner facing you. add half a slice of american cheese, a couple spoonfuls of beef filling, and about 1 tbsp shredded mozzarella. fold the bottom corner over the filling, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly. wet the edges with water to seal.
6. heat oil to 350°f. fry egg rolls in batches for 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy. transfer to a wire rack to drain.
7. serve immediately with homemade burger sauce for dipping. enjoy!
