Lipedema is painful, fibrotic fat — hips, thighs, calves — that diet and exercise alone don't move. Underneath it: chronic inflammation and fibrosis — and in later stages, the lymphatic system can struggle too.

Here's the link most people miss: the liver produces about half of your body's lymph fluid. When it's congested or inflamed, lymph production can surge — researchers have measured up to 30-fold increases in cirrhosis — adding fluid load the whole body must carry.

And fatty liver is everywhere: 1 in 3 U.S. adults has it, most without knowing. Excess weight, high cholesterol, and insulin resistance feed it.
