If you want to create lasting results for your clients, if you truly want to rejuvenate the entire face and not just improve the appearance of the skin, you must understand every layer that makes up the face.

That means understanding:

Bone: The foundation of facial structure, providing support, shape, and proportion.

Subcutaneous fat: Responsible for facial volume, softness, and contour.

Fascia: Connective tissue that surrounds and supports facial structures.

SMAS (Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System): A fibromuscular layer that connects facial muscles with surrounding tissues and plays a role in facial movement and structural support.

Muscles: Responsible for facial expression, movement, and dynamic balance.

Skin: The outer protective layer that determines visible texture, smoothness, and radiance.

Nerves: Essential for facial sensation, muscle movement, and normal function.

Lymphatic system: Responsible for lymphatic fluid drainage and maintaining healthy tissue fluid balance.

The face is not one dimensional. It is a complex, three dimensional structure in which every layer contributes to facial appearance and function.

If we want to approach facial rejuvenation intelligently, we must understand how these structures work together, how they change with age, and which tissues can safely be influenced through manual techniques.

And above all, I want to emphasize one thing:

Lasting facial beauty begins with the bone.

The face is not just skin.
