Hospital food is known for being terrible. "The food is so bad, I would not serve that to my dog," patients used to write to Northwell Health, said Bruno Tison, vice president of food services and executive chef at the hospital network in New York.

So Northwell took an unexpected step: hiring chefs from the fine dining industry, including five Michelin-starred chefs, to give their hospital food a glow-up.
