History in Tbilisi! Both U.S. women’s saber teams won world titles on Day 3, the first time any country has won both the Veteran and Grand Veteran team titles in the same weapon since the team event split into two divisions in 2025. Add two bronzes in men’s epee, and the Road Scholar 2026 Veteran World Team, powered by roadscholar, now has 11 medals in three days! 🇺🇸🤺

🥇 Veteran Women’s Saber Team: Aziza Hassan (durkanfencing, peterwestbrookfoundation), Laura “LJ” Johnson (nellyafencersclub), Yelena Kalkina (oregonfencingalliance), Kathryn Pierrynowski (rtfencing) and Julie Seal (valkyriefencing) — the first U.S. title in this event, won over defending champion Germany. It’s Seal’s eighth world title.

🥇 Grand Veteran Women’s Saber Team: Jasmina Denner (scarsdalefencing), Jane Eyre (Infinity Fencing Alliance), Lydia Fabry (avantgardefencing), Robin Pernice (dynamofencing) and Heidi Runyan (lajollafencingacademy) — defending their 2025 world title. It’s Fabry’s seventh team world title, Pernice’s fifth and Denner’s first.

🥉 Grand Veteran Men’s Epee Team: Sean Ameli (battle_born_fencing_club), Jeff Hudson (Hudson Center for the Martial Arts), Bruce Jugan (Garde Républicaine, Santa Barbara Fencers Club, Swords Fencing Studio), John Moreau (olympianfencing) and Mark Nixon (Los Angeles International Fencing Center) — the first U.S. medal in this event.

🥉 Veteran Men’s Epee Team: Aaron Gaines (No Fear Fencing, Alliance), Nick Hallman (Austin Fencers Club), Philip Hedges (academyoffencingmasters), Tommi Hurme (olympianfencing) and Alexander Tsinis (New York Athletic Club, North Shore Fencers Club) — a U.S. medal in both years of this event.

Congratulations to every member of the Road Scholar 2026 Veteran World Team who competed today! #VetWorlds
