Behind the Rescue: How foster homes help us find the right match 🐾

Fostering a dog or cat isn't just saving a life. It's helping that pet make the best possible match with a forever home.

Our fosters get to know the animals well, and they're often the true experts-- they know if a kitty needs a quiet home, if a dog needs close supervision in a fenced yard or if a puppy would be happiest with a canine companion. This knowledge is invaluable when we consider placements, and it helps keep our return rate low.

Fosters help puppies learn the basics and many are well on their way to potty trained by the time they go home. Early socialization is especially important, and foster homes can provide opportunities for puppies to experience different people, animals and environments in a safe, positive way.

Kittens have distinct personalities from a very young age, too. Even when a whole litter looks exactly alike, their fosters can often tell potential adopters who's the boldest and who's the calmest, and sometimes, who's the loudest!

We prioritize supporting our fosters and making fostering a positive experience for everyone involved. After all, we don't just want our fosters to help one animal. We hope they'll come back and help another.
We couldn't do this without them. ❤️
