prayers to him and his family… RIP 🙏

Mike Ditka passing away at 86 is a massive loss for the entire football world, a guy who’s one of only two men in NFL history to win a Super Bowl as a player, assistant coach, and head coach. As a rookie tight end in 1961 he set the NFL record for receiving yards at the position with 1,076 yards, a mark that stood for 63 years until Brock Bowers broke it in 2024.

He became an icon all over again in Chicago too, coaching the legendary 1985 Bears to a 15-1 record and a dominant Super Bowl XX win, cementing himself as the face of that franchise forever. Hall of Famer as a player, Hall of Famer as a coach, Mike Ditka’s legacy in this sport is about as complete as it gets.

What’s the Mike Ditka moment or memory that stands out most to you?
