D.C United 2 - 1 Red Bull New York

D.C. United won what may have been the last of the annual home-and-away Atlantic Cups before MLS switches from a two conference league to a division-based set up.

The D.C. midfielder, Oscar Avilez, earned his first MLS start at age 16. D.C. scored twice in the first half before seeing captain Lucas Bartlett ejected for a second yellow card in the 68th minute.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored in the 71st minute to cut RBNY’s deficit in half. D.C. held off their rivals over a tense final 25 minutes.
