You are not going to get a thank you for every good idea.

That is a harsh truth, and it is also a freeing one.

You do not have to agree with his tone to take something from it. Many people burn years waiting for praise from a boss, a client or a friend. They feel overlooked, then bitter, then stuck.

Meanwhile the people who build real wealth stop treating applause as payment. They look at the exchange. What are they paid, what do they learn, and what are they building for themselves?

If the pay is fair and your skills are growing, keep going. If the pay is weak, ask for more or find someone who values your output properly. Either way, recognition is a bonus, not a business model.

Also remember the bigger picture. A couple of years into a career, it is easy to count every idea and every credit. Keep creating anyway, because your reputation grows with the work.
