Four bidders vied over this luminous David Hockney iPad painting during The Contemporary Evening Auction at #SothebysLondon. After a lively bidding battle, it achieved £1.9 million, setting a new record for a Hockney iPad work. 

‘10th–22nd June 2021, Water Lilies in the Pond with Pots of Flowers’ features a six-part composition held together by a slate-blue grid. Combining the intimacy of still life with the immersive scale of landscape, it crystallizes the inventiveness that defines Hockney’s Normandy years.
