Excerpts from the Head Prefect's Address to school and staff from this morning's assembly. ⚔️ 💙

“Today, I stand before you not merely as your Head Boy, but as a young man entrusted with the responsibility of leading, serving, and leaving a legacy.

Coming from humble beginnings in Vryheid, Northwood has given me opportunities and a future I will forever be grateful for.

Northwood can shape you, gentlemen, but you must be willing to let it. You do not need to arrive here as the finished product. You are here to learn, to grow, and to become better.

This is the brotherhood I want us to build at Northwood: one where we lift each other up, hold each other accountable, and never allow another Knight to feel that he has to face life alone.

A badge can give a man authority, gentlemen, but only our actions can earn us respect.

When my time as Head Boy comes to an end, I do not need everyone to remember my name. What matters to me is how I made people feel, what I contributed, and whether I left Northwood in a better space than I found it.

My name is Nala Shabangu. My friends call me Shabang. I am your Head Boy for 2027 Signing in.”
