A Mastic man who sold THC gummies that sickened 12 William Floyd Middle School students has been sentenced to two years in prison.

Wilmer Castillo Garcia, 24, sold the gummies to a 13-year-old student through Instagram in March 2025.

The student then shared them with classmates, leaving nearly a dozen students hospitalized.

Prosecutors said Castillo Garcia also sold cocaine and marijuana to an undercover officer.

He later attempted to flee toward Canada after being released without bail.

After serving his prison sentence, Castillo Garcia will be transferred to ICE custody, officials said.
