Mustang News had the opportunity to interview Cal Poly alum and Artemis II pilot, Victor Glover, last week when he spoke to crowd of nearly 1,300 about how his Learn by Doing education pushed him to succeed as an astronaut.

Outgoing Editor-in-Chief Archana Pisupati asked Glover what it feels like to be a role model for young students of color who see themselves in him. His answer reflected on representation, progress and the work that still lies ahead.

“I want to celebrate the day when you see yourself in all things and it’s not novel,” Glover said. “I’m glad we’ve made progress, but we still have work to do.”
