Powerful, provocative, poignant.

🎤👟 Try/Step/Trip trysteptrip is a hip hop concept musical inspired by creator Dahlak Brathwaite’s own life. Through rap, spoken word and step, it follows “Anonymous,” a young Black man caught in a court-mandated drug rehab program and the systems shaping who he is.

Faith in the church, in the courts, in recovery. Folding chairs turn into jail bars, drums and companions. The stepping isn’t decoration, it’s the heartbeat of the show.

“An extraordinary experience and noteworthy accomplishment.” Brian Eugenio Herrera, TheatreClique

As featured in The New York Times after its acclaimed run at NYC’s Under the Radar Festival.
