A GitHub engineer named Terkel has built a macOS tool that lets you cover your messy desktop with a virtual rug. 🧶💻

Instead of sorting through folders or deleting files, you can drag the rug across your desktop clutter and watch the files vanish beneath it.

The fun part is the realistic cloth physics. The rug naturally bends and folds around the hidden files, with larger piles creating noticeable bumps in the fabric.

Terkel, a Principal Research Engineer at GitHub Next, shared this playful experiment inspired by the classic idea of sweeping a mess under the rug.
