I love living in California, but seeing gas over $6 a gallon definitely makes you think about how much we’re spending just to get around. Between driving, gas and what we pay to power our homes, energy costs are something I notice in my family’s budget. 

It’s one of the reasons I’m thinking more seriously about options like an EV and finding alternatives for shorter trips, like riding an e-bike around my beach community. I’m also paying more attention to what clean energy options could mean at home. 

For me, this conversation isn’t about politics. It’s about making choices like EVs, solar and more energy-efficient homes accessible enough that they can actually help California families save money. I want California’s next governor to make energy affordability a priority.
