FREE Boston event! Screenshot for where to watch Head of the Charles, happening in Boston all weekend long, Oct 16–18!

I’ve competed the last 3 years, and this is what I always send my friends and family when they ask where to cheer me on 🚣‍♀️

🗓️ WHEN: Friday racing is in the morning only. Saturday and Sunday run all day. 

🚇 GETTING THERE: Take the Red Line to Harvard Square. The main spectator area is about a 7-minute walk. Parking is very limited, so take the T.

🧺 OPTION 1: PICNIC (Cambridge side)
The Weld Exhibition at Riverbend Park has the most food and drink vendors at the regatta. Bring a blanket and watch the racing between Weeks Footbridge and Anderson Bridge.

🌉 OPTION 2: BRIDGE VIEWS
Weeks Footbridge is the 5th bridge on the course. Crews have to make a sharp 90° turn here, which is where most of the crashes happen. Anderson Bridge, the 6th, is right next to Harvard’s Weld Boathouse.

🍻 OPTION 3: THE RIVERBENDER 
Now on the Boston side between Weeks and Anderson bridges, across from Harvard Business School. Expect drinks, DJs, lounge seating, lawn games, and great race views. Tickets are $20/day, and you have to be 21+ to buy alcohol.

Best part? You can do all 3 options in one day!

➕ BONUS: Near the finish at Herter Park, you’ll find the FALS Bar (open to all spectators) and the Rowing & Fitness Expo, with 40+ vendors and official regatta merch.
