Lately I’ve been getting so much better at saying no to whatever just isn’t my cup of tea. My entire life I’ve struggled with being a people pleaser. Doing things for others that they wouldn’t do for me. Feeling stuck in friendships and relationships that just didn’t fill my cup. Over the past few years I’ve made the conscious decision to only surround myself with those who really fill up my cup. Life is too short, and the most valuable thing we have is time. So why waste it on things and people that don’t elate you?! I think as humans we get into routines in life and in our relationships that aren’t really fulfilling but we hang on because we fear the unknown. I know for myself I held onto friendships that were unfulfilling for over a decade just because we had been friends since we were children so it was all I knew. After waking up one day and realizing those people just weren’t my cup of tea I was able to “pour them out” and make room for new connections and relationships and I have never been happier. So if you’re at a point in life where you’re feeling unhappy ask yourself what would fill your cup and then GO DO THAT. Even if it feels scary, even if it makes you uncomfortable, just do it! It’s time you find those people and things and places that really fill you up! I’m hoping LA has a lot of those for me because I’m moving there in 19 days and as terrifying as it is I’m so excited for what the future holds. I’m so excited to find new people and things to fill my cup! This is your sign to make the changes to fill YOUR cup because we all know you can’t pour from an empty cup. 😘
