Happy Saturday and October Alumni Spotlight to Lauren (Schmitz) Sandin!
—
Lauren was a Viking Setter 🤟from 2012-2015 (wearing #10) and graduated Berry in 2016 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Lauren was named SAA All-Conference and NCAA All-Region. She is one of only three Viking setters (during the NCAA era) to surpass 2,000 Career Assists. Lauren was a freak athlete- standing at only 5’5”, she regularly surprised opponents with her incredible blocking and attacking abilities #hootiehoo #notactuallylefthanded and her calm and confident (truly full of swag) demeanor as our starting setter led to 2 SAA Championships and hosting NCAAs her senior season😏
—
When asked to share some of her favorite BCVB memories, Lauren reflected: “There are so many, it’s hard to name just one! I would have to say the bus rides in general where we suffered many delays and and setbacks (playing ninja on the highway lol). Petah misses coming out on bus rides too!” I think Petah needs to give our current players the next pregame speech 🤣Lauren is a 1st Grade Teacher in Phenix City, AL and is married to former Berry Football player Adam Sandin. We love ya, Lo💙💙
