## Caption

The Dining Room in Chateau-sur-Mer is a trove of decorative-arts treasures, but perhaps the room’s most unusual feature is the wall covering. It is made of Spanish leather that was stamped, silvered and painted in a floral pattern. The same material was used to upholster the chairs and footrests.
Guests of the Wetmore family who dined there include President Chester Arthur in 1883 and Prince Wilhelm of Sweden in 1907.
Chateau-sur-Mer is open for self-guided tours on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are not available at the house but can be ordered through our website or in person at The Breakers Welcome Center, Marble House or The Elms.
