What has 17 rooms, a 20-foot deep cedar closet and a 100-year-old rocking horse? The answer is the Third Floor of The Breakers, a space that has never been seen by the public.

Until now.

On Tuesday, July 28 at 5:30 p.m., Sébastien Dutton will take us on a virtual tour during The Eaddo H. and Peter D. Kiernan Lecture, “Let’s Get Digital: Exploring and Sharing the Third Floor of The Breakers Through Technology.”

If you have experienced any of our online virtual tours, you know about the amazing work of our 2020 Research Fellow, who has used cutting edge 3D camera technology to record our houses and exhibitions. He also helped us appreciate the subtleties of door hardware at The Breakers with his lecture on June 25.

To attend this Zoom lecture, email ProgramRSVP@newportmansions.org. Please write your full name and be sure the subject line says "Sébastien Dutton lecture."

Also, our collaboration with Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens continues Wednesday, August 5 at 6:30 p.m. with “New Discoveries about Hillwood’s Collection,” by Rebecca Tilles, associate curator of 18th century French & Western European Fine & Decorative Arts at Hillwood.
