## Caption

Repost from mansionsofthegildedage using RepostRegramApp - This is a detail from the mantle in the gold room at Marble House in Newport, Rhode Island. Marble House was built for William K. Vanderbilt and his wife Alva Vanderbilt in 1890 and the gold room is one the most spectacular rooms ever created in a Gilded Age Mansion. In Newport, the very rich called them, \"Cottages\". #gildedage #gildedagemansions #mansions #mansion #newport #newportmansions #newportri #newportharbor #historichouses #architecture #architetureporn #houseporn #newportrhodeisland #millionaire #billionaire #luxury #wealth #interiordesign #interiors #marblehouse #frenchstyleinteriors #versailles #mantles #fireplace
