We are delighted to announce we will be planting 2022 trees in 2022 in support of The Queen’s Green Canopy, a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee this year. The planting of 2022 trees will be spread across our Club Campsites and we are really proud to pledge our support to this wonderful initiative, “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.

We started the tree planting today with six trees which were ceremonially planted at Chapel Lane Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite. The three Wild Cherry (Prunus Avium) and three Silver Birch (Betula Pendula) trees were planted by tv presenter, journalist and Club member, Matt Allwright; singer, tv presenter and farmer, JB Gill; the Club’s Chairman, Grenville Chamberlain OBE; Club Director General, Nick Lomas and Club Director of Marketing and Membership Services, Harvey Alexander.

The importance of trees is highlighted by woodlandtrust in their ‘State of the UK’s Woods and Trees 2021’ report where they advise, ‘trees are vital for a healthy, happy society’.

Nick Lomas, said, “We are proud to pledge our support to The Queen’s Green Canopy and plant trees in recognition of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. Tree planting is one of the most engaging and environmentally friendly activities that people can take part in and help to enrich the planet. The benefits of tree planting and the removal of carbon from the atmosphere benefit the wider population, not just those who live or stay the most locally. The Club is on a continuous journey of responsible actions to reduce our environmental impact and help our members, guests, and future generations, get more from the great outdoors.”
