"Hi! I’m missbobbyjean – a six-month-old rescue dog from Romania. Two months ago I arrived in my forever home in London, and now I’m on my first holiday! My humans – that’s travel writer burgersandbruce and her husband, Jon – decided that Scotland would be the perfect fit for all of us.

For my first holiday my humans were looking for something that was relaxing and not too expensive. They didn’t want to leave me with a dog sitter just yet, and didn’t want to travel too far, and were keen for me to have lots of opportunities to run off-lead, while also getting to meet lots of other dogs.

We are staying at a few Caravan and Motorhome Club sites, but my favourite is New England Bay because of the beach – look at my smiling face! Nothing makes me happier than feeling the sand under my paws, and getting the chance to charge through the shallow water (no swimming for me yet, although I do like watching all the other dogs do this).

When we aren’t on the beach I’m in my crate taking a much-needed nap, or watching the world go by from the back seat of the campervan – I do love to people-watch!

I would happily spend all my days on the beach, but the humans are set on exploring the Rhinns of Galloway peninsula, so we’ve taken some short trips in the van to eat seafood, wander around harbours and see lighthouses. When we get back to the site I get to do lots of sniffing on the beach, which is apparently a good way for me and other dogs to decompress.

I’ve never slept better than on this trip. No more whining when I’m in my crate, just a chance to catch up on naps after a day of adventures. There’ll be more highlights from my holiday on the Caravan and Motorhome Club’s Instagram stories over the next few weeks – see you there!"
